Common questions about open play at PickleX

What is open play?

Open play is drop-in pickleball where you can show up during scheduled times and play with other players at the facility. Courts are organized based on skill level and the number of registrations, so you'll always find a good match. No reservation needed—just register and play!

Do I need to reserve a spot for open play?

No reservation required! Just register online or at the front desk when you arrive. We recommend pre-registering online so we can plan court allocation, but walk-ins are always welcome if space is available.

How much does open play cost?

Pricing varies by session: Early morning sessions (6-8am) are $5, mid-day weekday sessions are $5, weekend prime time (after 5pm weekdays, most weekend times) is $10. Or get unlimited access with memberships starting at $50/month for non-peak hours or $95/month for full access!

What skill levels attend open play?

All levels! We organize courts based on skill level so everyone can play at their pace. Beginners play with beginners, competitive players play with competitive players. Our staff helps direct you to the right courts when you check in.

Can I bring a friend who's never played?

Absolutely! Open play is perfect for introducing friends to pickleball. We'll get them started on beginner courts and our regular players are friendly and welcoming. Equipment rental is available for $5 if they don't have paddles.

How long can I play during open play?

You can play for the entire open play session length (typically 2-3 hours). Most people rotate through games every 10-15 minutes to ensure everyone gets playing time. Come and go as you please within the session time.

Is there a membership option for open play?

Yes! We offer several unlimited membership options: Full Unlimited ($95/mo) for all sessions, Non-Peak Unlimited ($50/mo) for weekday daytime play, Couples Membership ($145/mo) for two people, and Early Risers/Late Nighters ($70/mo) for select times. All include priority booking (10 days advance) and exclusive events.

What if I don't have a paddle?

No problem! We rent paddles for $5 per session. We have quality paddles available at the front desk. Many beginners rent for a while to try different styles before buying their own.
